JSTGGUK riders Jack Price and Dan Peace 2nd and 3rd at British Trials Championship Round 5

Sunday was Round 5 of the 2018 British Trials Championship organised by the Guisborough & District MCC. A relatively easy Trial for BTC standards which made for a nervy day.

Jack Price was top JSTGGUK rider finishing 2nd behind winner James Dabill.

Dan Peace was 3rd. He was actually leading the trial until the closing stages and had a bad five on section 9 which spoilt his chances of the win.

With 3 rounds in the 2018 BTC remaining the championship points standings is looking close between JP and Dan. Jack has a 6 point lead at the moment over Dan for 2nd in the Championship.

Jack Peace was 4th beating his rival Toby Martyn. These two are also close in the championship points for 4th and 5th in the Championship with Toby having a 4 point advantage over Jack.

Dec Bullock was 12th.

In the Expert Class the best GG rider was Sam Yeomans who just pipped JSTGG rider Dan Thorpe in a tie break for 6th and 7th. Great ride from Sam. Bad first lap from Dan but recovered well.

The BIG result this round was in the Elite Youth Class where JSTGGUK rider Mitch Brightmore WON coming back from injury. This was Mitch’s first event back and wasn’t sure how he would manage after his shoulder operation so to come back with a win is impressive, well done !
