Scorpa Weekend Race Report

Last Sunday saw the Yeadon Guiseley club hold there annual Chris Carter trial which was again part of the S3 parts national championship.Always an event to pull a high quality entry this year was no different!

The day brought good weather and BMS Scorpa new boy Tom Minta made the most of it coming away with the overall victory ahead of current British Champ Jack Price and Scorpa team mate Andy Chilton.

A low scoring event for the front runners, Tom rode positive and consistent all day to win by the tightest margin, furthest clean deciding the outcome of the fantastic Chris Carter Trophy! This is Toms first adult national win and very well deserved! He is really starting to find his feet with his new Scorpa factory 300.

Andy continues his very strong run of form, a third overall and only one mark off the win. He will be slightly disappointed to miss out on the win after a last section dab which without would of given him the victory! However, consistence is coming for Andy and it’s what’s been missing of late!

Jess Bown was again out tackling the national course. Her determination to improve and commitment to Trials is starting to show some really positive riding from Jess! The Chris Carter is a event known for few section of harder severity then other s3 round but Jess attacked them with good confidence and even though the result maybe doesn’t show it the level of her riding is really starting to rise!

Tom – ‘ I am absolutely over the moon to get my First National win, I’m starting to get used to the new bike and understanding how to ride it in different situation. This is just the result I need with the second round of the BTC next weekend! I’d like to thank Nigel and June for the amazing support and bike preparation’

Well done Tom! To see the Scorpa brand feature so strongly in the result is a real reflection on the progress the bike has made and something I’m really pleased about! Good luck to Tom,Andy and Jess in there British championship rounds this weekend!’
