Saturday and Sunday would see the women TrialGP class join the championship out in Japan!
Our leading women’s rider Jess Bown, hoping to build on her excellent season last year, travel out to join the world’s best!
This year is the first visit to Japan for the women TrialGP riders and were all having to deal with the difficulties the long traveling would entail.
Friday would see the qualification take place followed by 2 days of 15 sections over 2 laps!
Jess has been working on her ‘qauly mode’ over the off season and this showed with a very competitive time however two dabs right at the end of the section would drop her down the order and give her a early start to for the main event.
Saturdays trial turned out easy and very very close at the final score count! This coming from the extremely dry conditions over the weekend! With work to the section over night Sundays trial would be alot more challenging and a big difference in scores compared to Saturdays results!
Jess came away with a 9th and 11th place finishes I’ve over the weekend.
Jess commented on her weekend – ‘Not the results I was hoping for in Japan for the first and second rounds of the World Championship, too many 5s in a close championship knocked me down the places to 9th and 11th but it was a great experience and looking forward to coming back stronger in France in July. Can’t thank Nigel and Scorpa Factory enough for getting me a bike over there and there support through out!’
Nigel Birkett – ‘ Jess may not of had the results she was hoping for or deserve out in Japan but I’m more then happy with her determination and commitment! It’s a long way to go and a totally new experience! I’m sure once the series gets back into Europe we will see Jess back at the sharp end of the results! ‘
Next up for the Scorpa team is round 4 of the BTC on Devon!
Birkett would like to thank all there sponsors for there continued support!
