The French town of Auron, located in the French Alps, at 1,700 meters above sea level and just 20 kilometers from Isola2000, where the European Trial Championship was held last week, was the place of the fifth round of the Trial World Championship.
In TrialGP Adam Raga has achieved the fourth position just two points away from the podium in a race with great progression. After a first lap with 27 points, he made a great comeback in the second lap through the sections with only 13 points, finishing fourth in the race.
In Trial2 it was a race of few points, reason why any failure conditioned the final result. Luca Petrella, the best placed with TRRS, finished seventh. Two places behind, Haga, and Riba eleventh. The British Hugo Jervis was nineteenth.
In the top category of women, TrialGP Women, things did not go as expected to our only representative, Jule Steinert, who finished eleventh.
In Trial2 Women a good race for the German Sophia Ter, sixth. Hanne Haga was ninth, followed by Martina Gallieni.
The World Championship activity continues next week with the Belgian Grand Prix, which will be held in the town of Comblain-au-Pont.
“Today we were very close to the podium in TrialGP. Adam had a good ride and, although it was difficult to fight for the victory, we could have finished better. In the rest of the categories we have a great representation, including females, but we can not keep up regularly in the first positions”.
Race P4 | Standings P4
“I’m satisfied with my riding. It was not a simple trial to manage. There were very easy sections and others too difficult. In the end, with three “fiascos” on my card, I knew that my options were to fight for the podium, which finally escaped me for very little. I hope to be higher in the standings in the next race.”
