Black Toro Capital partners with KTM for the global launch of GASGAS

The joint venture will increase the workload of the Girona production plant which will remain owned by the current proprietors and will continue producing urban mobility vehicles for TORROT, a Black Toro Capital company.

This agreement will allow the expansion of the GASGAS product portfolio into different segments, engine capacities and models. The main new models will be four-stroke and electric motorcycles (including children’s models) as well as electric bicycles.

Madrid, September 26, 2019.-
Black Toro Capital and the KTM group have agreed to form a joint venture to establish the new GASGAS which will benefit from the KTM Group’s reach worldwide. This agreement will increase the production of the plant in Salt (Girona) which will continue producing electric vehicles for Torrot.

The main objective of this partnership is the global launch of GASGAS through the development of new models. The collaboration will result in the expansion of the GASGAS product catalogue under the umbrella of KTM’s commercial and technological expertise. Additionally, KTM will take advantage of the knowledge that BTC, GASGAS, Torrot and Muving have on the electric mobility segment.

For Ramón Betolaza, managing partner of BTC, this agreement is excellent news because “it represents a major step forward in our project to consolidate GASGAS as a world leader of trial, it allows us to develop a new growth phase for GASGAS incorporating new models with cutting- edge technology with the best possible partner for the future of GASGAS”. The joint venture, he adds, “guarantees a bright future for our brand GASGAS and for the Girona plant.”
