CELEBRATION 30 YEARS 1984 – 2014

The Pre-65 SSDT is nearly here, we have a quick look at the history of the event with Classic Trial Magazine

The first ever Pre-65 Scottish was held in 1984 when the Edinburgh and District Club hosted the event in Kinlochleven on the Wednesday of the main Six Days trial. The reason for the midweek day was to ease the parking problems at the old Achlain group of sections and give the spectators a diversion from the main event which also highlighted the interest in the Pre-65 scene. The trial was run over one day on private ground taking in some of the popular section groups such as Pipeline. It ran as a one day event until 1997 when it moved to its present two day format to help with land erosion and is as popular today as it was thirty years ago with the much sought after entries still having to be balloted.
