Eight sections that were laid out using rocks, boulders and trees trunks that had not been ridden by a trials cycle before took the marks off the riders even pallets and tractor tyres were used on this occasion, riders were allowed to ride the sections together at the same time but to record the marks on their cards. A good mixture of riders and even some new faces for the 6 routes (Balance bike route added) set out the day before with dry weather forecast.

On the hard Elite class Dave Kerr (Crewkerz) took the win riding together with Iwan Osborne (Because) from Wales. Scott Wilson (54 Sport) just 3 points behind took 2nd on the podium riding together with Charlie Rolls (Crossbow) 3rd place and Sam Rolls (54Sport) Andrew McCabe (GU) nursing injuries sustained from football would have to retire but would put up with the pain for as long as he could. Experts would have great fun on the boulders hill climb once at the top it was over fallen trees laid out in the chalk back over and then down the hill side plenty of speed gained and it was easy to go over the edge, and then back up over some more boulders with some funny goings ‘on.

Richard Tickner (Koxx) took the win being the last to finish with Darren Ring (GU) eagerly awaiting took 2nd on 44Adam Holt (Koxx) had a couple of falls but kept his jovial self to finish the podium off. Elliott Tickner (Echo) missing it out on 4 points sustained on section 3, the tree trunks followed by the water jump. Brian Elsey (Scrap Iron) on just his 3rd comp of the year took 1st place in the Inter class on 18 marks The Novice class was well contested George Rogers (Onza) riding with Ciaran Rolfe (Because) also travelled down from Wales to contest the class, both had trouble on the telegraph poles laid uphill.

The pallets took the marks of the beginners with Shane Wheeler- Kingshott (Mission) on his first trial beating of brothers Jordan and Cameron Toogood. Adult class rider Chris Hiett (Genesis) kept at it and was surprised with his performance on a trials cycle taking the gold medal in his class. The Dabber class had 3 riders with Kayla Broomfied on her balance bike out in front by quite a margin and with the permanent grin on her face and an even bigger one when receiving her awards, the annual Bar B Q followed and after that the awards were presented by the clubs chairman Laura Tickner.

Thank you to Jim Connor for the use of his excellent land, the cooks of the day and all who participated and helped during the year. We hope all enjoyed Cycle Trials.
