JST GGUK Rider Michael Brown convincingly won Round 2 of the British Trials Championship organised by the Westmorland MC Ltd. on Easter Sunday in Cumbria.
Firstly thank you to the club for standing in at the last minute to salvage this BTC round 2 from the Lakes Club.
The weather was wet which made for a high scoring trial being extremely slippery. Michaels experience helped beating the young pups by a decent margin. He’s riding very well at the moment and hopefully can maintain this relaxed form into the SSDT in two weeks time. Great result for Michael and I’m chuffed to bits for him!
Jack Sheppard was 2nd and JST GGUK /inch perfect rider Dan Peace had a superb podium place in 3rd just missing out on the tie break for 2nd.
Cloburn/JSTGGUK rider Jack Price was not happy in 4th after struggling in the slippery conditions. Jack self confessed to making way too many mistakes which pushed him off the podium. Jack will bounce back as he doesn’t dwell on things too much.
JSTGGUK /inch perfect rider Jack Peace had a very strong 7th place finish after really enjoy this tough event.
JSTGGUK rider Sam Haslam was a steady 9th. Sam is now in full SSDT prep mode and is looking forward to his holiday in Scotland.
In the Expert Class JSTGGUK long standing rider Dan Thorpe had a steady 4th and was gutted to miss the podium with a few too many on the last lap.
Dan was actually pipped to the podium by Irish GG rider Harold McQuaid who finished 3rd so congrats to him.
Dan has ridden every weekend this year (sometimes more than one event per weekend) and this was his second of three events for the Easter weekend after finishing second at Good Fridays Richmond Trial.
Dan also rode the S3 Lomax Trial on Easter Monday finishing 3rd overall.
I expect/hope Dan has a steady weekend this coming weekend to relax before his umpteenth SSDT ride.
JSTGGUK rider Sam Yeomans was 14th and Cloburn/GGUK rider Chris Alford and a bad day in 23rd. Chris also rode the S3 Lomax National and had a lot better day finishing 7th in the S3 Class.
Thanks to www.trialmguk.com for the great pics especially in the wet weather.
Thanks to Factory Kev for preparing Jack Prices bike
