Vertigo confirms that Jaime Busto will miss round 5 of the X-Trial World Championship taking place this weekend in Bilbao. Busto sustained a small injury to his right knee just a few days ago at the Spanish Championship season opener, an ill-timed set back that will force him to stay at least two weeks without riding.
Holding 3rd place in the general standings coming to Bilbao, Busto was set to be one of the main attractions of the night as the Bizkaia Arena is just 20km far from his hometown. A pitty for the Spaniard and many fans, who were expecting to see Busto delivering his unique and agressive style.
According to medical checks ran earlier this week, Busto should be ready to ride again in two weeks time, which means he will be prepared to take on round 2 of the Spanish Championship the 14th and 15th of March in Baiona.
Miquel Gelabert will be Vertigo’s only representative in Bilbao. He currently sits in 6th place trailing 4th by only 2 points, so he will be looking forward to delivering a strong performance that puts him right in the fight for Top 3 positions now that the indoor series are coming to an end, only 2 rounds to go after this weekend’s event.
