Fresh from his victory at the 2015 Scottish Six Days Trial, Dougie Lampkin is riding high – and Michelin is pleased to confirm it will be supporting Lampkin for 2015.

Riding on Michelin X11 tyres at the prestigious Scottish event last month, Lampkin was able to tackle all the hazards the challenging terrain could throw at him and went on to secure the top spot on the final podium aboard his Vertigo machine.

Speaking of his association with Michelin, Dougie said: “In sport you’re always looking to gain an advantage over your rivals and trials is no different, even though there is no outright speed involved. Having the right tyres is a major part of creating a winning package and that is why there is no option in my mind other than to choose Michelin. My recent win at the Scottish Six Days Trial confirms this. Six long days of slippery conditions where grip is everything, mean that you must have the right tyres if you’re serious about winning. Six of my nine wins to date at the SSDT have been on Michelin tyres, so I am delighted to have reached an agreement to expand this successful relationship.” Having relied on Michelin rubber for many of his previous competitions, Lampkin has chosen the famous marque to pursue his next targets for the 2015 season, including his performance at the forthcoming Cholmondeley Pageant of Power.

With 12 FIM World Trials titles to his name, along with his many victories at the SSDT, Dougie Lampkin is truly one of the greatest home-grown Trials riders and his endorsement of Michelin tyres will mean a lot to amateurs and professionals alike.

Michelin Marketing Manager, James Dimmock, spoke of the relationship with Lampkin: “Michelin is focused on producing world-class tyres for the trials segment, and to do this we need to work with the best riders. Dougie Lampkin is an established giant in the trials field and we are delighted to be able to support him in 2015. The Michelin X11 tyres he uses are proven in competitive trials and using Michelin’s innovative Maximised Contact Patch (MCP) casing the rubber hugs obstacles and rocks, while the lightweight construction increases manoeuvrability and jumping capabilities. We look forward to an exciting season ahead this year and the continuation of our working relationship with Dougie.”
