30 degree heat and bright sunshine was the order for the weekend at the North Berks Supertrial, held as always at Seymours Arena, Aston Tirrold in Oxfordshire.
The Women and youth event was held on Saturday with World Ladies Champion Emma Bristow taking the honours and visiting youth Pau Martinez on the top step of the youth podium.
Sunday saw many of the top UK male riders in action, and they were joined by visiting top American rider Alexander Neiderer and young Pau Martinez, who sensibly chose a 250 for the day instead of his 125 for the much bigger sections.
The usual format was undertaken with all riders completing 2 laps before the top 6 went into the semi finals. After 5 more slightly stiffened sections the top 3 rode the remainder of the lap to decide the winner … and it was close all the way with just a single mark separating James Dabill and Jack Price for most of the way. “Old timer” Sam Haslam was riding brilliantly throughout the day to get into the final but was just not able to stay with the top 2.
Another brilliantly organised event by all involved.
