Saturday evening (23rd January) saw Richmond Motor Club hold ‘An Evening with Ian Hutchinson’ , 11 times TT winner, at The Comrades Club in Richmond – a superb way to celebrate over 50 years of RMC Trials.
Larry Carter, motorsport journalist and broadcaster, acted as host and the audience were treated to an amazing evening hearing the story of Ian Hutchinson’s racing career and the many obstacles and surgical operations he has endured following a badly broken left leg after a crash at a British Supersport round in 2010.
After a very informative and interesting interview in front of a full house, there was a chance for the audience to ask their own questions – including whether Hutchy fancied riding The Scott Trial this October!
(Hutchy did start out on a trials bike and still has one) – Sadly it clashes with race dates.
The evening concluded with a chance for fans to have their photos taken with Ian, AKA ‘The Bingley Bullet’.
An absolutely fabulous evening was had by all, many thanks to Ian for joining us – what a top man he is – and many thanks to Larry for hosting. Thanks also to The Comrades Club, Richmond for the use of their room and to all those involved in organising the evening.
