The Birkett Motorsport Scorpa team’s season would come to a close with the final round of the ladies and girls British championship held at the Trials Park in Sussex. Run by the Chelmsford and District Auto club a healthy entry would travel to the most Eastern part of the country.
Scorpa number one ladies contender Jess Bown went with an outside chance of the title. With the event turning out to be on the more difficult side compared to the rest of the championship, Jess would excel with the types of sections and really so her true ability. Even though she would again finish 2nd on the day the gap to those behind her showed her level! Jess would secure 2nd in the championship after another strong year in the British scene.
Jess: “I’m super happy with my riding at the final round! It’s not often we get events that test us like it has today but I’ve loved the challenge and think it brings out the best in my riding. I’m glad to finish the year strong and I’m already looking forward to 2019. I’d like to say a massive thank you to everyone that has supported me this year. Now it’s time to have a small break before I get my hands on a new 2019 factory Scorpa”
Nigel Birkett: “Jess just gets on with it and performs. I’m so happy with how she presents herself and she’s a valuable part of the team. To watch her grow into the rider she’s becoming on board the Scorpa has been so positive. Well done Jess, and thank you”
