Last weekend saw the 2nd and 3rd round of the 2018 European championship continue in Poland!
Young team scarlet Reece Gazzard aboard his 2018 factory machine would make the trip over. Hoping to build on a positive opening round and after some good solid training since, Reece would suffer great misfortune with a recurrence of a past shoulder injury coming back to spoil his weekend. Due to the ongoing pain, Reece would unfortunately retire from Saturdays event! However not happy with giving up and a night of rest Reece managed to get some movement back in the shoulder and battle through Sundays trial to finish a credible 10thplace. He will now return home for some well earned rest and hopefully get back to full fitness.
The past weekend also saw a very welcome return of Scorpa faithful James Carr, with him taking the premier award at the annual loch Lomond 2 day trial. It’s alwaya good to see James out on the bike and of course enjoying riding! A high scoring event this year and tough moors really seem to suit James and a great win was his reward.
Nigel Birkett – ‘ well done to James Carr on a fantastic win. A rare sight him been out on the bike. For Reece I’m really pleased with the determination he showed to continue on Sunday! I’m sure he won’t be happy but with a injury like his he did a great job. Take care boy and get fit soon. Lastly good luck to team rider Jess Bown out in Japan for the opening round of the women Trialgp.’
Birkett Motorsport would like to thank all the team sponsors for their continued support
