Team JSTGGUK had one of their best ‘team performances’ at The Scott Trial even with our main man Jack Price being eliminated from the results for missing a section.
We had 4 Team riders in the Top 7 riders all winning Gold spoons.
RICHARD SADLER was P2 and had his personal best performance in The Scott. Richard was very focussed and fully ready this year which made the difference. A front exhaust change after surrender slowed his race but apart that a troubled free ride.
GUY KENDREW was P4 and also 100% ready. Guy trained hard for this event helped by Scott legend and father in law Phil Alderson.
SAM HASLAM was P6 and cruised around for a consistent 33 on time and also 33 on observation. Sam doesn’t ride much nowadays but this just shows his talent and fitness.
DAN THORPE was P7 which was an excellent result. Dan was 17th last year so a big improvement. Dan is getting older but is very bike fit as he rides every weekend with no excuses. A true role model for any young rider.
DEC BULLOCK was P22 and another Siver Scott spoon.
JACK PRICE was eliminated for missing a section. There are no words to describe how Jack and his team felt after we learned this news late Saturday night. A big effort from Jack and his immediate team went into this event this year and he was there to win. This simple yet costly mistake cost Jack the win and also GG winning the Manufacturers’ Team Award.
It’s satisfying to know that looking at the section by section analysis Jack would have won even he had fived the missed section. With 1 mark on time and a maximum of 26 on observation that was job done. That’s a fact and not an excuse.
Jack knows he only has himself to blame and he won’t be missing a section again.
We at GGUK are extremely proud of our results at Scott 2019 and just fell short of GAS GAS domination.
Congratulations to James Dabill for the overall win.
Congratulations to MRS Sherco for the Manufacturers Team Award.
