A weekend of riding and camping proved irresistible for a little boy riding his first OSET Cup, having travelled all the way from New Zealand! Ted Ceci rode an OSET 16.0 to replicate his bike at home and loved it.
The camping weekend was held at a new venue for East Anglia Trials Club in woodland at Hammonds Park, Braughing. Over 30 riders took part, with the option to ride four routes of increasing difficulty.
Andy Dear who organises the Three Counties OSET Cups, said: “We had a great weekend. The riders all thoroughly enjoyed themselves. From beginners through to more experienced kids we had a load of fun.
“Not only that, but riding a new hillside venue meant we were able to introduce a whole new range of climbs to suit every ability. We’re really looking forward to repeating the event again next year. We were also delighted to welcome Ted from New Zealand along. Previously our furthest rider had hailed from the Isle of Man which we were really impressed with – not sure you can get much further than New Zealand though?”
The weekend of OSET riding was supported by MSL Electricals and JAG Building Solutions. Andy added: “Their support means we were able to provide trophies, medals and sweets for our riders which gives the weekend an extra special touch – so big thanks to those guys.”
With no two podiums the same over the course of the weekend it demonstrates the depth of talent challenging the top riders on each route.
Andy finished: “My favourite award is the rider of the day. OSET Cups without doubt help develop ability, technique and skill, but for those just starting out in trials, the rider of the day award acts as a real confidence boost! When it comes down to it – we just want our kids to have fun and enjoy riding!”
