2025 ACU Trial GB British Champions Michelin and Jack Peace

Trial GB 2025 Round 8 Podium

Scarborough & District Motorcycle Club in the North of the country hosted the final two rounds of the ACU Trial GB British Championship where Jack Peace (Sherco) would be crowned the 2025 champion in the premier class.

In 2025 the Auto-Cycle Union Trials Commission unveiled a new format for the ACU Trial GB series. The Women’s ACU British Championship would be run alongside the Men’s categories, ensuring Women’s classes receive the recognition and support they deserve. This structure marks a new chapter in the history of British trials where women and youth riders gain equal footing and visibility alongside their male counterparts. The championship is observed using the ACU Trial GB marking system where competitors may stop, go sideways, or reverse without penalty. However, going backwards whilst footing incurs a five-mark penalty. A one and a half minute time allowance for each section is permitted.

All the riders took on 12 sections ridden over two laps competing on a wide variety of natural terrain made up of rivers, rocks and wooded climbs at Low North Park, Harwood Dale, Scarborough. Over the weekend the weather started overcast on Saturday with rain opening the day on Sunday before the sun came through. A strong entry of 97 riders were entered across the seven classes: Trial Youth B (22), Trial2 Women (7), Trial Youth A (15), Trial Expert (24), Trial GB Women (5), Trial2 Men (15) and Trial GB Men (9). There would be four different routes marked with different colours at each section with varying levels of difficulty with the hardest test for the Trial GB Men.

Harry Turner (Sherco)

A slightly over cast, cold start before the sun shone through had the sections in prime condition for the start of the trial. After the opening section the marks would soon start to be lost over the next few as Jack Dance (GASGAS) and George Hemingway (Beta) were the early leaders. This soon changed in the next run of sections as Jack Peace (Sherco) took control but both Harry Turner (Sherco) and Harry Hemingway closed their laps on the same 17 marks lost pushing Peace down to third on 19. As the sections remained dry it was the two Sherco riders Peace and Turner who headed the way. Turner was showing stunning form and the loss of two marks and one on time for the second lap was enough to give him his first ever ACU Trial GB victory.

Jack Dance (GASGAS)

Day two started after overnight rain ceased and the sun again came though but the sections had now changed making them more slippery. Some of the 12 sections from the previous day were replaced with fresh new ones giving the riders a change of hazards. With Jack Peace (Sherco) the new 2025 ACU champion he came out with winning in mind but on the opening lap the day one winner, Harry Turner (Sherco) had other ideas and pushed him all the way. Section 11 was the decider as Peace parted with a strong single mark loss and the five for the stop from Turner kept him in second. Harry Hemingway (Beta) was forced to retire with a knee injury leaving Peace to put on a masterful display to take the win with a strong second lap score of just nine marks lost to finish 11 in front of Turner.

Jack Peace (Sherco)

Jack Peace: “Finishing with the championship won at round seven was an ideal way to end the 2025 ACU British Trial GB Championship with one round remaining. At the final round on day two of the double header the win showed my high level of riding so far this season where I have been victorious at the Scottish Six Days Trial and finished fifth in the FIM TrialGP World Championship. My form has been consistent all year which is reflected in my results which I am very happy with. Each of the eight rounds which have made up the 2025 season have offered very different riding conditions but knowing that I have the Michelin tyres on my Sherco has given me the confidence and control to guide me to the ACU Trial GB British Championship title.”
