OSET Bikes Announced as ACU Youth National Headline Sponsor

The ACU Youth National Series 2024, home of the best young trials riders around the country, will be sponsored by off-road, electric bike manufacturer, OSET Bikes.

OSET has had a busy 18 months in which it was bought out by Triumph and launched the new TXP range, heralding the next generation in electric off-road motorcycles.  Representing Trials, Xplore and Play, the all-new TXP models dramatically change existing off-road convention by including two seat options.  Convertible, trials and explore seat configurations will enable riders to develop skills across different riding environments, with just one bike.

Ian Smith, founder of OSET Bikes, said: “Some of the world’s best trials riders started their careers on OSET Bikes.  The likes Harry and George Hemingway, Harry Turner and my own son Oliver all now compete at world level.  It was always competitive at youth nationals, but fun and we enjoyed watching all riders develop their careers.  It’s a winning tradition we are happy to continue with the new TXP range.

“It’s now time for the next generation of riders grow and we are delighted to support this championship and the sport we love.”

OSET Bikes plan to attend all rounds of the ACU youth national series to offer encouragement and practical support in the form of spare parts and advice.

Ian added: “One of the hardest parts of committing to a national championship is the disappointment if something innocuous happens like a broken brake lever and you’re no longer able to compete.  We’ll be on hand with a range of parts to ensure every OSET rider has the very best opportunity to ride at the highest level in the UK.

“We would add that it is possible to participate just in your local round – bit like a taster – so you can get a feel for how the championship events differ from a normal trials event, with a view to participating fully next year.  For families that have ridden OSET Cup North, we would say if you can ride the red route, you can compete at national level.”

Elaine Connor, representing the ACU, said: “We are delighted to welcome OSET on board as our headline sponsor of the youth series for 2024.  We are all working hard to encourage as many riders as possible to participate in trials competition at a national level and are looking forward to attending the different venues across the country.”
