Raga to make Sherco World debut this Saturday

Adam Raga will return to defend his title at the DL12 Indoor Trial this Saturday

Winner last time out inside Sheffield’s Utilita Arena early in 2023, Adam Raga will return to defend his title at the DL12 Indoor Trial this Saturday 13th January 2024 – as he makes his World debut on board his new factory Sherco. Already a three-time victor at the famous Yorkshire venue the veteran campaigner will arrive back in the UK very soon with added motivation as he looks to draw first blood in his new colours.

Raga defeated his much younger Spanish compatriot and current World number two Jaime Busto by just a single mark twelve months ago in a nail-biting finale that went down to the last section of the inaugural edition of the event. Knowing that he will not only have to fend off Busto again, but also fight it out against his career long rival and now thirty-four times World Champion Toni Bou, Raga is fully aware of the challenge he will face on his new mount when he returns to the UK next weekend, and explained:

“As I have said before, the event at Sheffield is always a special race for me, like this year it is the first competition of the new season and is the first chance to test yourself again against your rivals after the winter training period. Also, it is an event where I have enjoyed some great victories, especially the one last year which was least expected after being out with my back injury.”

“Yes, my training has been different this time, as it’s always a huge challenge when you change bikes after so long with another brand, but I think I have shown many times during my career, these are the moments that bring me extra motivation and this time is no different for me.”

“I could have chosen to retire at the end of last season, but I believe I still have the possibility and motivation to ride at a high level, so I am very excited to continue my career and to start a new chapter with Sherco. The team have done a great job to help me adapt to the new bike, for sure there is still work to be done, but I am confident I can arrive at the first race in Sheffield soon and be ready to fight alongside my great rivals.”

“I am lucky as the British fans have always supported me, and I am sure again that I can count on their support during what will be an historic moment both for me and the Sherco team. I am really looking forward to giving them something to cheer about very soon.”

Raga will be joined by the other current five riders in the World, plus three home challengers for what promises to be another huge event packed with action and entertainment. To watch history in the making and to grab some of the last few remaining tickets click here before it is too late.
