Tallinn completes the 2024 calendar

The X-Trial World Championship is set to visit the Estonian capital on 26th October

The FIM X-Trial World Championship has added a new and promising stage for the 2024 season, bringing the Championship up to seven scoring Rounds.  The new date means that, three weeks after X-Trial Andorra la Vella, the world’s best will head to the Unibet Arena in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia.

This will be the first visit for the series to Tallinn, widening the sport’s reach in the Baltic region, close to both an Estonian and Finnish crowd.  And an event that has had two previous stagings as an open event will now benefit from World Championship status.

Bernard Estripeau, Director of Esdeux, the World Championship promoter, explains: “ Scoring World Championship points was the next step for this event that has already been run twice and has had a high level of riders and organisation as well as considerable success with spectators.  For us it is very exciting to add the Round and a new geographical space to the Championship which is growing in every area.”

Kaino Tülle, head of TRIXS the local organiser of the event, said: “ In two seasons our competition has gained us real attention as an organisation and structure, which is very attractive spectators.  All of this has also caught the interest of the World Championship and the FIM.  Organising an event at this level will of course mean more responsibility but it will be very important for the development of the sport in the region and will bring a great visibility to Estonia.”

X-Trial Tallinn will become the penultimate Round of the season.  In other news, the X-Trial of Nations which was due to be contested in La Réunion has been cancelled as building works on the Stade Jean Ivoula have not been completed on time.
