The Golden Years

Best of Twinshock Trials 1965-1985

Until the mid-1960s the sport of motorcycle trials had been dominated by the mighty four stroke machines many of British manufacture. This gave way to a wave of lighter two-stroke motorcycles that came to dominate the sport for 20 years – led by the Spanish brands of Bultaco, Montesa and Ossa, followed by the Japanese and Italian manufacturers.

Through the camera lens of the many motorcycle enthusiasts, this title takes a journey through the Golden Years of the light weight two-stroke trials machine from 1965 to 1985. The famous names such as Mick Andrews, Gordon Farley, Sammy Miller, Malcolm Rathmell and the three Lampkin brothers are all captured inside the superb and unique collection of trials pictures.
