235 riders presented their machines for technical inspection at Gorgie Cattle Market in Edinburgh, with Mick Andrews back on a twin-shock set-up after winning in 1974 on the cantilever Yamaha with a single rear shock absorber suspension.

French rider Thierry Michaud took a calculated gamble and stayed with Fantic in 1985 to help develop a new mono-shock machine. He went to the Scottish leading the FIM World Trial Championship but was the task of winning this event with the prototype Fantic just one too many?
Classic Celebration – 50th Anniversary of the FIM World Trials Championship
In April 2025, 116 riders celebrated the 50th anniversary of the first FIM World Trials Championship round with a rerun of the Hurst Cup Trial at Whitespots Trial Park in Newtownards, Northern Ireland.
Classic New Event – Duncan Smith Memorial Two Day Trial
A new event on the classic calendar. One hundred riders assembled to enjoy Kinlochleven & DMCC’s first Duncan Smith Memorial Two Day Trial over the weekend of Saturday 31st May and Sunday 1st June 2025 at Achallader, near the Bridge of Orchy.
International Sport – 2025 FIM Trial World Championship

With round two in Portugal and round three Japan completed, the 2025 FIM Trial World Championship is starting to show a pattern in the five classes.
