MICHELIN MASTERS THE 2021 SCOTT TRIAL

It was a day of elation for Jack Price on the Vertigo as he took a much sought-after win in this ultimate test of man and machine. He gave Michelin tyres yet another proud moment when he took the top spot on the podium at the Scott Time and Observation Trial this weekend. Organized by the Richmond Motor Club, the Scott Trial has a strong sporting heritage covering over 100 years and is unique in the fact that time and observation are calculated together to find the overall winner.

Billy Green (Scorpa)

Richard Sadler (Vertigo)

The event is based at Reeth on the North Yorkshire moors high above the market town of Richmond. Despite a very cold dry day the weather suited the riders as they tackled the single lap course covering 76 hazards over 80 miles.

Guy Kendrew (GASGAS), in fifth position, set the fastest time of 5.17.56, and the overall winner Jack Price was the best on observation losing a mere 17 marks proving vital in the final calculation of the time and observation.

Best Lady Rider – Emma Bristow (Sherco)

The top three riders Jack Price, Billy Green and Richard Sadler all chose to compete on Michelin trials tyres to secure their positions on the podium. Indeed over 80% of the entry of 200 riders chose Michelin for the action, a testament to the quality of Michelin tyres in the sport of motorcycle trials as they mastered the 2021 Scott Trial.

Jack Price: “After the disappointment in 2019 when I was excluded for missing a section in the closing stages it’s a great personal achievement to have won after moving away from trials to enduro in 2021. The action today has tested all my riding abilities to the limit especially riding against the clock and battling exposed rocks and extreme terrain, I’m relieved I could rely on my Michelin tyres to perform as I needed them to. Despite the change in the hazards and the many river and moorland crossings I’ve had an enjoyable day’s competition and I’m over the moon to walk away with the Scott trophy!”
