Scott Trial Charity Presentation

Richmond Motor Club’s Scott Trial Committee hosted their annual Charity Presentation evening last night at The Kings Head Hotel, Richmond.

The evening started with David Peacock, Scott Trial Chairman, welcoming everybody and explaining the history of the Scott Trial and how Richmond Motor Club has raised over £205,000 for local charities since it took over the running of the trial in 1991.

The cheques were presented by 6 times Scott Trial winner and 7 times Trials Outdoor World Champion, Dougie Lampkin.

Dougie presented the cheques to representatives of the various charities, many of whom expressed their gratitude and explained how the donation would be used.

A total of £5,000 raised from the 2022 Trial was given out to various charities (see below).

 

Beneficiaries of this year’s donations from the 2022 Scott Trial are (in no particular order):

Swaledale Scouts, Swaledale Mountain Rescue, Reeth & Gunnerside School Fund, Ravensworth C of E Primary School, Yorkshire Air Ambulance, Great North Air Ambulance, Reeth Young Farmers Club, Swaledale Seedlings (Playgroup & Parent & Toddler Group), Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (RABI), Hambleton and Richmondshire MS Society, Richmondshire Cricket Club, Moorland Association, DELTA, Holmedale Pre-School, Wensleydale Rugby Club Development Fund, Gamekeepers’ Welfare Trust, ACU Benevolent Fund, Mowbray Suite, Home Start, Just The Job, Marrick Parish Council Village Hall Fund, Alistair Bullen Memorial Fund, Reeth & District Community Transport Ltd, Reeth Literary Institute Trust, RSACC CIO, Marie Curie.

A further cheque for £430 was presented by Richmond Motor Club Chairman Andrew Swainston to Yorkshire Air Ambulance.  This money was raised by Richmond Motor Club at various events, including a lunch the Club hosted to thank landowners, tenants and gamekeepers whose land the trials run over.
