Vertigo Motors announces the termination of the contract between Matteo Grattarola and the brand.

Palau-Solità i Plegamans, 2nd June 2023 – Vertigo Motors announces that, after a complicated start to the season, where the distance between Matteo Grattarola’s home base in Italy and the Vertigo Motors headquarters at Palau-Solità i Plegamans, have prevented the rider from participating in the constant development of our products and thus demonstrating the true potential of both the bike and rider. Both parties have reached an agreement to terminate the contract which had been set to expire in December 2024.

Vertigo Motors is not leaving the Trial World Championship. It will continue to be officially represented in Trial2 and Trial3 and will support Miquel Gelabert in his return as a privateer rider in the top category, who has chosen to ride a Vertigo over the course of this season. Thus, our brand continues to support its riders as has always been the case. The presence of Vertigo Motors in the top competition has two objectives: firstly, to develop and evolve its products – the Nitro is a fine example of this – and, secondly, to support the sport of trial and its participants, whether professional or amateur.

The brand considers Matteo Grattarola an exceptional rider who deserves the opportunity to be in a team best suited to his circumstances. For this reason, and in spite of having honoured his contract in full until December 2023, the Italian rider will be able to participate in the remaining races of the TrialGP World Championship. Vertigo has always shown its love for trial and for those who practice it.

Vertigo Motors sincerely thanks Matteo Gratarola for his contribution during these months, for his victories in the Italian championship and for his commitment to our brand and wishes him every success in his future projects. As well as continuing to compete at the highest level of world motorsport, the brand will also focus on other areas of the sport.

In support of customers and young talents

The brand will focus its activity mainly on the events that are the essence of Vertigo, such as endurance trials like the Scottish Six Days or the Tres Díes de Santigosa, highly participative and demanding events in which Vertigo riders have won the most recent editions. In addition, it will increase its support to the Vertigo Factory Junior Team campaign for young trial talents; this promotional formula will be exported to other countries after the success obtained in Spain.

New innovations to celebrate the 10th anniversary

We are also pleased to announce that Vertigo will this year begin preparations for the celebration of its tenth anniversary. This important milestone in our history fills us with great pride and gives us the opportunity to celebrate our various achievements in the world of trial. We are already working on special activities for the Vertigo community.

The work at Vertigo Motors continues with the new Nitro ’24 due to be released before the summer. Also, a world exclusive to finish: the new Vertigo Linko is already a reality which, after two years of development and testing, will be unveiled next autumn. It is a perfect bike for mixed on and off road applications, a fully versatile machine.
